The Great Stones Way Ultra Trail.

Welcome to The Great Stones Way Ultra Trail.

This is a brand new ultra marathon event. Taking in lots of the history of Wiltshire along the way…

The route was devised by the Friends of the Ridgeway and after coming across one of the walking disc signs, it triggered some interest and upon reading the accompanying book, I realised it could be made in to a great Ultra marathon event.

Avebury & Stonehenge

Starting at Coate Water, Swindon. The route takes you along the Ridgeway and up to Barbury Castle.

A longer stretch of the Ridgeway and then you run through Avebury and past a white horse or two.

We then deviate off the straight route to take in a view of the famous Stonehenge.

Old Sarum

Upon leaving Stonehenge and getting back on track. You will be greeted by the Iron age Old Sarum.

Salisbury Cathedral

And finally finishing on the grounds of the historic Salisbury Cathedral.

May 4th 2024

As you can see above. This route takes in some amazing views along the 57 miles you will be running.

We can guarantee well stocked checkpoints along the way. We will be catering for everyone. Amazing views, with what we are hoping, will be an amazing finish, on the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral. Full course medical cover. And of course, A medal, worthy of your achievements.

This event will have some signage, but you will be required to have the capability to read a map and have gpx file on your phone or watch.
